Where oh where is Girlband now?

I must say, what happened to Girlband? That hugely hyped single of theirs failed to make an impact on the charts. Sure it did make it INTO the charts but at 43 you can hardly call that a successful experiment in trying to create a girl band that can dominate the Aussie charts.
I do like the song, but it's a little hectic. The video stresses me out and the crazy dancing frustrates me. It's not appealing at all. I haven't caught up with the TV series because as I mentioned awhile ago, it being on TV at 11am on a Sunday morning isn't gonna be successful. And how silly does Natalie Bassingthwaite look when she says good night and her dialogue refers to evening television? Bad bad move Ten, now look what a waste of time it was for the girls? And a waste of money for the record company?
But record companies don't admit defeat, they always say something to detract from failure...
"Girlband are a brand new development act for the company and it is still very early stages,'' Sony A& R Director Jay Dee Springbett.
Sure, sure just pull them as quickly as possible so they can get their life back together and earn a decent wage, please?
I wouldn't be surprised if they got an ARIA nomination soon. Anything to get the local music industry moving.
It's kinda scary when my predictions are half right...

I was a shameless new romantic ... When I was last back in my hometown (Wellington, New Zealand), I saw a pic of me aged 17 (circa 1985) and I'm wearing white supertaper jeans, white tennis shoes, a red string t-shirt, and a John Taylor straw hat ... oh dear.
At the time I would've been heavily into Frankie Goes to Hollywood and New Order ... prior to that I was into the Human League big time, but by '85 they were boring me ....
