Jessica's released that Public Affair video. Doesn't deliver.

I just viewed the new video for Jessica Simpson’s ‘Public Affair’ song and it’s so damn cheesey!
So this over-hyped song and impending clip features celebrities such as Christina Applegate, Christina Milian, Eva Longoria, Maria Menudos, Ryan Seacrest and that guy who starred in that Home and Away style rip off soapie (it was so bad I can’t be bothered to dig for the show’s title). The stars featured in the clip are all Jessica’s friends. Right. I only know from the gossip tabloids that Eva is a firm friend but the rest are just vying for love and affection from the media because they featured in a music clip from Hollywood’s latest divorcee (divorcer?).
I think Jessica is having issues deciding what rating her video should get. It’s set very innocently in a rollerskating rink (hence bubblegum vibe in song) but features scenes where she’s making out with 2 guys and inciting the fact that maybe she might share a girl-on-girl kiss with Christina Milian in front of one of them. See where the confusion is? There is an obvious message in this video and it’s not ‘I’m being totally mature about my divorce’. She reckons she still has it and by mixing poor acting skills by her celebrity ‘friends’ her video will totally rock. It rocks not. It’s very cringeworthy and it’s obvious they used body doubles for the skate off with the two lovers.
What also surprises me (besides the lack of maturity of course!) is how Eva pronounces the word ‘Internet’ as ‘In-ter-net’! Not the Yankee version of ‘In-ner-net’. She puts a huge emphasis on the ‘In-TER-net’ bit I nearly fell out of my seat. People pronounce it that way in the US? And why is she talking about the In-TER-net in a brainless video? Check it out here before it gets taken off.
Though since this whole public scrutiny over the divorce after 2 happy seasons of Newlyweds, I’m team Lachey and some people do seem to grow stronger and smarter out of the marriage. You can see the contrast in this video here. It’s war!
Well I got that off my chest, tune in tomorrow for an instalment of reality TV!
