Now I have no problems with him being one, it’s his choice after all but to mention it is a very subtle marketing ploy to reel people in to loving him a bit more. What annoys me is this article I just came across makes no sense.
“Dean Geyer said he hoped being a virgin would get him some more votes.”
Then the next paragraph…
“The group held a joint press conference in Sydney yesterday, and the pretty boy whose own idol is devout Christian Guy Sebastian said he would never deliberately use his virginity to take out the title.”
I’m being neutral here, but it’s either the journo who has no idea how to write or Dean who has no idea what to say to the media.
It may be old news but I don’t read NW, Famous or Spend $5 for Utter Rubbish. It only just caught my eye while I was at work today and wanted to read a bit more about this ‘OMGOMGOMG Dean Geyer is A VIRGIN!’ The headline was practically screaming at me and being able to freely read it without paying for it was too good to resist.
Dean must be lacking something in this competition to be using that line. And did some stupid reporter (I’m looking at NW) ask the entire top 12 about their sex life? It’s nobody’s business. I certainly hope that Dean just didn’t talk about it like he had eggs for breakfast.
Oh and Australian Idol tonight on Ten for the Idol's choice round.

So, Dean said he hoped his viriginity would attract more votes, but would never blatantly use his glad-wrapped dick to win the competition.
What a moron anyway. I just saw his version of 'For You I Will' and thought it was terrible. Yet Mark Holden was that excited he almost took Dean's virginity away from him.
And if Dean performs 'Sexual Healing' I will vomit on the television.

Show's not going so bad atm. They've chosen typical songs to sing. I think I'm more engrossed in the fact that Gary Pinto (ex boy bander) is doing back up singing.
I'm watching Lisa Mitchell and I think she's more of a Michelle Branch niche-market singer than the next really big thing to take overseas. But she's pretty good anyways.

I understand why pop Princesses do this... they can appeal to little girls, mothers and the general G-rated public's tastes whilst giving the boys a bit of a rise... but honestly, what is so great about guy virgins?
I know I dont care and really dont need to know... especially if it's not directly related to me. Some people really need a good publicist!

Pin Up Dean reveals "I'm saving myself for marriage"
He may be idol's biggest spunk, but Dean Geyer isnt planning on using that to cut a swathe through his female fans. Instead the 20 year old has decided to remain celibate until he gets married. "I've chosen that", says Dean, "and im going to stick by it."
Dean is also aware that the extra female attention his Idol fame will bring may make his decision even tougher to stick to. "It's going to be hard", he admits, "I'm a normal boy, but i think with help from my God I'm going to get through it."
Dean is hoping his future wife will share the same beliefs as him - and ideally would like her to have "saved herself" for him too. Despite not wanting to bed hop with lots of women, Dean tells NW he's on a mission to find a girl, settle down and have children. "I'd like to get married and have kids when i'm young."
So, who is his ideal girl? "I like brunettes", he says. "She has to love music, be adventurous, generous, fun and loving. Hopefully i can find her."
So really from this mag, he's just saving himself 4 the girl he marries. nothing wrong with that....

In regard to stating your immature and blunt statement about Dean Geyer..
Dean letting the world know he's a virgin doesn’t sound like a ploy to gain votes at all...
Once again it's more the selfishness of our media's constant pressuring questions to make an article that they think the young teenage mind would read.
Dean like other Christians is just preaching his beliefs when asked those kinds of questions.
They (the media) have obviously made a bit of money by mixing his words (which doesn’t sound like a first).
I'm proud of the way Dean has preached about his love for his religion.
He would be a deserving winner if he does eventually take out the title of Aus Idol 06.
Don't belief everything you read next time young-minded Yolanda.

And also 'It’s nobody’s business' whether he is a virgin or not. The media sure like to sell whatever fodder they can find and just to also point out 'I don’t read NW, Famous or Spend $5 for Utter Rubbish.'

just so you know, it wasn't Dean who brought up his virginity, not on national tv anyway.
Kyle mentioned it on one of the sunday night shows, after Deans peformance Kyle called him a "God-loving-virgin". So lay off ok, yes Dean ovbiously mentioned it for whatever reason off camera but it was Kyle and later the other idols (when Ronan Keating visited) that announced it to Australia.
