Reality TV - December 2006

I find it's really sad that I'm watching season 1 of Laguna Beach FOR THE THIRD TIME. I watched it the first time round, then watched it on DVD not too long ago. And am watching it for the third time on Channel Ten.
Morgan/Source: MTV

Watching it the third time round made me appreciate the flaws of HOW NOT to live your life like these kids.

Take for example episode 2 on Tuesday.

Now I vaguely remember what happened in that episode but one moment that really made it memorable was when Morgan received her letter from the only uni she applied for.

If you take that situation and brought it to Australia you would be up shit creek.

Seriously, who applies to only ONE UNIVERSITY with NO BACKUP in case you don't get accepted? Even the OP 20 kids have back up just in case they didn't make the cut off for their desired course!

A fantastic example of how to NOT plan for your career.

Leona Lewis wins X-Factor!

December 17th 2006 13:45
Well, since my last post, most of the population in the UK were sitting on the edge of their seats waiting to see if Leona Lewis will take out the title from X-Factor...

AND SHE HAS!!!

It was obvious that she was able to, but you never know these days!

Her first single will be the cover of Kelly Clarkson's A Moment Like This when she was the inagural winner of American Idol. The new version has a newish sound to it, but I find it a bit disappointing because it's not Leona's song. It's Kelly's.

But since Simon Cowell has a say, he would try and reap as much money as he can from it now that Leona is shoe in to make millions. But still, a new song would be nice, she can sell any song now! But she's a budding songwriter so she could've had some contribution to the winner's song.

Oh well.

And here's her version of the song below...

Laguna Beach on Ten

December 16th 2006 11:49
So...Channel 10 is broadcasting my beloved show Laguna Beach from Monday night.

Okay...

I'm not impressed cos it is a pretty exclusive show from Foxtel (that I didn't watch naughty naughty). Now that Ten is showing it every night of the week for the next 2-3 weeks all these pre-pubescent children are gonna be raving about it for weeks on end!

That season started 2 years ago! JEEBUS!!!

I already have to endure school holidays and car park rage in shopping centre with schoolkids being let loose for 6 weeks.

RUINING LAGUNA BEACH IS SOMETHING I DON'T WANT TO ADD TO MY LIST!!!

One to watch...Leona Lewis

December 11th 2006 06:12
Now Reality TV has dried up here in Oz for the summer. So I've been writing for my other blog instead to keep the entertainment going (for me at least!).

I've caught onto the huge phenomenon of X-Factor over in the UK. For those in Oz remember the deplorable attempts by Daniel MacPherson to be a TV host and just totally forgot about the show altogether. Not so much in the UK. They absolutely ADORE the show and they make ours look cheap and nasty (more than it already is).

A big star to come out of this show is Leona Lewis. OMG, her voice is outstanding, and this performance especially gave me shivers. Absolutely faultless.

I'm totally rooting for her to win, cos every week her performances keep getting better and better. Sure they may not be original songs she's singing but it's not every week you see a panel of judges praising her performance all the time and not criticising her vocal range or look.

I put my money on her to take the competition out. If she loses out for a sympathy vote to her competitor she was horribly, horribly, robbed!
